Looking to Make a Difference in 2005?

The group will meet at the Wilson Building and proceed to the Mayor's office to deliver thousands of signed postcards from DC residents-all of who want the mayor's support for Mandatory Inclusionary Zoning. CNHED + Open House = Success
More than 60 people turned out Thursday, Dec. 16 to celebrate the opening of the Coalition's new offices on U Street. Open House goers enjoyed tastings from U Street eateries like Julia's Empanadas and Maggie Moo's. This event served as both an open house and annual meeting for CNHED. Besides good food, there was also an election of Coalition Directors. There was also a special presentation led by the Enterprise Foundation's Deborah Stevenson to present the 2005 Madeline C. McCullough Scholarship to two Howard University students, Nicole Aiken and Timothy Butler. Butler, who was in Mississippi for the holidays, was in attendance via speaker phone. Both scholarship recipients gave remarks detailing their gratitude for the awards. The open house gradually came to a close as people slowly drifted through the offices checking out the exposed brick and eccentric lighting fixtures. But as the last empananda was eaten, all of the open house visitiors were gone. The Coalition, however, would like to thank all of those who came out to the CNHED Open House/Annual meeting, and looks forward to working with all of its member and friends in the new year!
