Equitable Communities

A District where all residents are part of thriving, livable communities that are socially, racially, and economically just.

CNHED’s 2016-2018 Strategic Plan Toward Equitable Communities

To help achieve this vision, CNHED fosters just and equitable community development solutions that address the needs and aspirations of low- and moderate-income District residents by convening, advocating, and educating diverse stakeholders.

CNHED aims to advance the production and preservation of affordable rental housing; address homelessness; promote sustainable development and operations; build and sustain cooperatives; promote tenant rights; provide opportunities for home ownership; ensure supportive and family services; grow small and micro businesses; cultivate career pathways through workforce development; and revitalize main street corridors.
