Ward 6 Housing Town Hall – October 11

September 25, 2012

Juanita McKenzie at the Ward 4 Housing Town Hall

On Thursday, October 11, the Housing For All Campaign will host our third ward-based town hall meeting.  After our successful meetings Ward 4 and Ward 7 this past winter, we are heading to Ward 6! We are partnering with Manna Inc, and University Legal Services, two housing providers who work actively with Ward 6 residents on a variety of housing needs.

In our Ward 6 town hall we will focus on affordable housing needs which are present across the city, but with special emphasis on the needs of the Ward 6 community.  Residents and advocates will discuss the need for permanent housing for our homeless population, meeting the needs of returning citizens, and the value of home ownership opportunities. We will also talk about the importance for resources to preserve affordable housing, and the resources needed to make the Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act a real option for the many Ward 6 residents whose buildings are currently for sale.

The Ward 6 Housing Town Hall will highlight the voices of Ward 6 residents who have been directly impacted by the District’s housing programs.

I hope you can join us.
