|Date:||Thursday, May 9th|
|Time:||Noon to 3 PM|
|Location:||DC Housing Finance Agency (815 Florida Ave NW) see map|
How the Challenge Works
The four caterers selected by the DC Small Business Week Committee will prepare two (2) sample dishes from an entree and dessert, plus a beverage. A small contribution to the participating caterers will be provided by The Whitlow Foundation to help defray their costs. A small panel judges, made up of industry practitioners, will provide feedback to the caterers based on three criteria — presentation, flavor, and creativity of presentation.
The caterer scoring the highest points will receive the “Golden Apron“. Prior to the judging phase of the event, the panelists will dispense industry best practices and guidance to the attendees and the caterers. Invited organizations and other stakeholders attending this event will have an opportunity to sample each caterer’s presentations, and provide feedback by completing a brief comment card.
Helping DC Caterers
This event is an opportunity to showcase four (4) local, small-scale caterers interested in growing their businesses.
