Join us on Thursday, April 27, from 1 pm to 2 pm., for an informational webinar on The Past and Future of HUD’s AFFH rule with Megan Haberle, Senior Director of Policy at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) as she provides insight on Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) rule and what it means to the District of Columbia.

Learn how HUD is now taking steps to reinvigorate the AFFH requirement and will require local and state governments and housing authorities to commit to fair housing plans (called Equity Plans). What kind of housing policies will this new AFFH rule look at, and what kind of improvements could the DC region make to advance fair housing goals? These questions touch on housing programs such as Housing Choice Vouchers, inclusionary housing, rent stabilization, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, homeownership supports, and more.

About Megan Haberle:

Megan Haberle is Senior Director of Policy at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, an association of over 600 community-based groups seeking to promote a just economy, through work with community leaders, policymakers and financial institutions to champion fairness and end discrimination in lending, housing and business. Previously, she worked at the Poverty & Race Research Action Council for nine years, most recently as PRRAC’s Deputy Director. There, she led work on policy design and advocacy, public education, and community-based technical assistance, with a focus on advancing fair housing and environmental justice. Before coming to PRRAC, Megan worked at The Opportunity Agenda (a social justice policy and communications lab based in New York City), in private litigation practice, and (prior to law school) at the ACLU National Legal Department and as an English teacher in South Korea. Megan is a graduate of Columbia Law School and Swarthmore College.
